Rare edition with 10 contemporary hand-coloured engravings. Second edition of the Latin translation of Heinrich Campes’ adaptation of ‘Robinson Crusoe’. Signed by the translator F.J. Goffaux.
Description: Contemporary calf, sides with rolled gilt borders, spine gilt in compartments with red morocco label lettered in gilt. Vigesimo-quarto: 14 × 9 cm; pp. 284, [1]. With hand-coloured frontispiece and 9 hand-coloured plates.
Condition: Binding show some wear to corners, edges, spine ends and hinges. Gold decoration somewhat faded or gone in places. Spine label partially rubbed. Text block with minor inkstains in lower margin of pages 17–20 and 67–71. Otherwise a very fine and clean copy.
