First edition of the first part of Rosset’s poem on agriculture, with 8 magnificent engravings – the second part was published separately in 1782, without illustrations.
Description: Contemporary quarter sheepskin over marbled paper covered boards, spine with red morocco label lettered in gilt and decorated with single gilt fillets, raised bands. Small quarto: 26 × 20 cm; pp. [16], lvi, 277, [1]. With a frontispiece and plate engraved by Yves-Marie Le Gouaz, 6 plates engraved by De Ghendt, Le Veau, Lingée and Ponse, 6 headpieces and a vignette on the title page. Edges speckled red.
Provenance: Neat ownership inscription on front flyleaf, dated: 22 novembre 1908.

Condition: Minor abrasions and marks of usage to joints of front cover and to board edges, small tear to spine foot. Internally, despite some minor foxing and staining, in generally very good condition.
